Carl Edwards Conquers Atlanta; To Appear At Nashville Superspeedway This Weekend. Edwards Has History of Winning at Superspeedway

LEBANON, Tenn. - On the heels of a very successful weekend in Atlanta; Nashville Superspeedway will host Atlanta’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race winner and NASCAR Busch Series race winner - Carl Edwards!

Edwards is no stranger to Nashville Superspeedway, having won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in 2003. In a recent interview with track officials, Edwards said:

“I'm so excited about coming to the Nashville Superspeedway behind the wheel of the Roush Racing Charter Communications Ford Busch car. The last time I was in Nashville it was in a NASCAR Truck Series truck. The Charter team has done so well there in the past few years, always finding the set up and ran fast every week. That team would have won the championship except for a little bad luck along the way. From the first time I went to Nashville I fell in love with the place. I like the layout of the track, how smooth it is and it's just a fun place to compete. Since I won a Truck race there, which was an awesome experience, it's a good place for me to return to. Every time I go home to Missouri I look at that cool trophy guitar. I'll be running both series full time this season, Cup and Busch, so I'll be coming to Nashville twice. I know I'll especially like the night race there, there's something special about running under the lights.”

In 2005, the 25-year-old Carl Edwards will do double duty and looks to vie for two championships, one in the Cup Series in the #99 Roush Racing Office Depot Ford and one in the Busch Series in the #60 Charter Communications Ford. If history repeats itself, Edwards could be on his way to making an even bigger mark in the NASCAR history annals.

Tickets are on sale for the PFG Lester 150 ARCA RE/MAX Series race and the Pepsi 300 NASCAR Busch Series race on Saturday, March 26 by calling toll-free 1-866-RACE-TIX or visit www.nashvillesuperspeedway.com.
