Nashville Weekend Rocks For Willie Allen

Nashville, TN – Just 16 hours after winning a NASCAR Late Model Heat race and finishing second in the NASCAR Late Model Feature during the Dollar General Friday Night Thunder at the Nashville Music City Motorplex, Willie Allen rolled into the ARCA RE/MAX PFG Lester 150 hoping to keep the successful momentum going. He did just that. Driving the #75 Diamond Rio Ford for Bob Schacht Motorsports, Allen raced to an impressive fifth place finish in only his second ARCA RE/MAX outing. “I feel blessed with the great finishes we had this weekend,” said Allen. The Late Model Feature was cut short ten laps due to a local noise ordinance just as Allen was catching the leader. “I felt like we could have won the race, but unfortunately time ran out on us.”Allen once again proved this past weekend that given the opportunity he can be competitive at any level of racing be it local tracks, ARCA, or NASCAR.

The ARCA top five didn’t come easily for Allen. The team had handling problems all weekend, but Allen showed his ability to drive through the obstacles. “A tight handling condition seemed to plague us most of the weekend. If we could have gotten the tightness out of the car, I could only imagine how fast we would have been… but that’s just racing. Bob Schacht and his team worked very hard all weekend to fix the problem and I really enjoyed racing with them.”

Allen faced some very tough competition during the PFG Lester 150. Several NASCAR Nextel Cup development drivers were included in the 41-car field. “This was the most competitive ARCA race in history. The time gap from 1st to 32nd was the smallest ever on record. To know that we can finish in the top five with so many Nextel Cup supported teams is definitely a positive thing.” Being a native Tennessean also made the finish extremely special for Allen. “I can’t thank all my fans enough for coming out and supporting me this weekend in all my races.” Allen got more hometown support from Arista recording artist Diamond Rio. The band provided the sponsorship of Allen’s #75 Ford. “I am very grateful to Diamond Rio and I was honored to have the legendary group on the car.” Diamond Rio’s Greatest Hits II album will hit stores on May 9th.
