The Nashville Superspeedway Communications and race weekend volunteer staff are always available to answer any questions you may have. The department is located in the NSS Administration Building, located just in front of the Superspeedway. On race weekends, the team works from the Infield Media Center, located directly under the scoring pylon. The Press Box is also staffed on race weekends and is located on 6th floor of the suite tower along the front stretch of the track. Specific credentials are required to access the Infield Media Center and Press Box during race weekend.

NASCAR CREDENTIALS

All media credential requests for NASCAR events held at Nashville Superspeedway are handled through the SMI Credentials system. All requests must be made by an assigning editor. Applications submitted via hard copy will not be accepted.

CREDENTIAL PICK-UP LOCATION (Arriving on State Route 452 via Interstate 840)
The credential trailer on race weekend is located on the southeast corner of the property off Sterling Marlin Drive, and just like the drivers, you will make a lot of left turns to get there. After exiting I-840 onto SR 452 East (Bill France Blvd.), travel approximately one mile passing the track and turn left onto Darrell Waltrip Drive. Take another immediate left onto Sterling Marlin Drive where you will see signs directing you the credential trailer and parking lot on the left.

INFIELD ACCESS

To enter the Nashville Superspeedway infield, you will need to utilize the tunnel located between Turns 3 & 4 via tram/shuttle, golf cart or by foot. Proper credentials will be needed to enter the infield (Hard Card or track issued credential). NSS provides a golf cart shuttle service for media, Team PR, and photographers who need to make their way to the press box, grandstands, or to their parked vehicle in Lot 4 along the backstretch.

INFIELD MEDIA CENTER (MC sticker required)

The Infield Media Center is located directly underneath the scoring pylon and adjacent to Victory Lane. Media, Photographers, and Team PR members will be granted access to the media center with proper credentials. The media center provides workspace for Media, Photographers and Team PR persons. Parking for the Infield Media Center is located in Lot 4.

DEADLINE ROOM (MC sticker required)

The main room in the Infield Media Center is reserved for media outlets on deadline and major NASCAR-traveling outlets. There are approximately 100 seats in the deadline room. The BMS Communications staff is set up in this room as is a select group of PR representatives. All interviews during race weekend will take place in the Deadline Room, with audio and video relayed to the Press Box.

PHOTOGRAPHER WORK ROOM (MC sticker required)

A separate room is provided for photographers adjacent to the Deadline Room in the Infield Media Center. Space is available for approximately 60 photographers. The room is complete with wireless Internet, television monitors and lockers are available in the lobby of the Infield Media Center.

PRESS BOX (MC sticker required)

Press Box access is available for approximately 20 individuals. Take elevator #3 located in the Suite Lobby positioned between Gates 2 & 3 to Level 6. When you exit the elevator, you will make a left and find the Press Box on your right-hand side. The Press Box will have Wi-Fi connection along with all the timing and scoring sheets from on-track action that day. A member from the NSS Communications team or volunteer staff is always stationed in the Press Box to answer questions.

INTERVIEWS

There are numerous opportunities for driver interviews during an event weekend and they vary from series to series. 

All driver interviews will be held in the deadline room of the Infield Media Center. NASCAR will hold media availability during the early part of the race weekend to preview the action. Currently, the pole winner or top-three qualifiers will be interviewed after the qualifying session. If qualifying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series is held on the same day as the race, qualifiers will not be brought to the media center. Following the end of the race, the top-three finishers will be interviewed as well. The second- and third-place finishers will be escorted to the deadline room as soon as possible while the winner will be interviewed shortly after.

Audio and video of the press conferences will be relayed to the Press Box.

Other interviews/news conferences will be posted in the Infield Media Center accordingly. Media looking for individual driver interviews should contact the respective team PR representative.

RACE STATISTICS AND NOTES

NASCAR Statistical Services will supply the NSS staff with various statistical information, advisories and updates during their respective event. The information will be handed out in the deadline room and Press Box during race weekends. Copies also will be available in the bins located at the front entrance of the deadline room and in the Press Box.

COPIES
Canon copy machines are provided by RJ Young and media members needing to make copies or have something printed out should see the NSS Communications volunteer staff.  Copies are free of charge.

INFORMATION RACKS
The information racks located under the counter in the deadline room will contain all track, series and team releases and media guides. Updated news, quotes and statistics will be distributed each day, and extra copies can be found in the racks.

MEDIA GUIDES
Nashville Superspeedway event guides, NASCAR Cup Series media guides, NASCAR XFINITY Series media guides and NASCAR Craftsman Truck series media guides can be obtained from NSS staff in the deadline room.

PRESS CONFERENCES
Media members are encouraged to attend all press conferences in the media center. All cell phones are to be turned off during press conferences. A schedule of press conferences is available on the screen in the lobby of the media center.

ROOF ACCESS
No one is allowed on the roof of the media center at any time during race weekend. If you need to access the roof to hook up phone lines for a radio remote, you must do this before race weekend. This policy will be strictly enforced.

TELEVISIONS
Televisions will provide a live feed from the track, live timing and scoring and announcements for the media. Televisions are to remain on assigned channels at all times.
