LEBANON, Tenn. — Nashville Superspeedway announced today that country singer-songwriter Filmore will serve as an Honorary Race Official for the Cracker Barrel 400 NASCAR Cup Series race on May 31.
"Fast cars, loud music and Nashville -- that's my kind of Sunday," Filmore said. "There's nothing like the energy of race day at Nashville Superspeedway. It reminds me of being on stage, and I can't wait to be in the middle of all of it during the Cracker Barrel 400."
Filmore, known for his genre-bending sound and boundary-pushing career moves, will take part in pre-race festivities as the track's High-Speed Honky Tonk race weekend reaches its marquee event. The Honorary Race Official role places him at the center of the on-track action before the green flag waves on one of the most anticipated NASCAR Cup Series races of the season.
"Filmore embodies the same spirit that makes our High-Speed Honky Tonk bold, electric and unlike anything else on the NASCAR circuit," said Matt Greci, general manager of Nashville Superspeedway. "We are honored to have him join us on race day and be part of what promises to be an incredible evening of racing for the Cracker Barrel 400."
A Missouri native now based in Nashville, Filmore made history as the first independent artist featured on Spotify's Hot Country cover and has since carved out one of the most distinctive paths in the genre. He has headlined multiple tours and opened for superstars including Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood.
In a groundbreaking move, Filmore signed with global icon Pitbull's Mr. 305 Records, becoming the first country act on the label, and most recently joined Pitbull for a nationally televised performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
His new album, Atypical, is out now.
The Cracker Barrel 400 is set for May 31 at Nashville Superspeedway. Tickets are available at NashvilleSuperspeedway.com.
