LEBANON, Tenn. — Nashville Superspeedway announced recently that Green Hill High School won the overall title in the 2025 “Pack the Pace Car” toy drive competition, while East Nashville High School claimed top honors in the Davidson County division. Both schools will be recognized prior to the Flote 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race on May 29.
The third year of this initiative set an event record in 2025, with nearly 2,000 toys collected for children in Middle Tennessee. Donations benefitted the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Jingle Toy Drive.
Green Hill High School continued its dominant run in the competition, winning the overall contest for the third consecutive year.
“Pack the Pace Car has become one of our most meaningful community initiatives during the holiday season and this year’s response was exceptional,” said Matt Greci, Nashville Superspeedway general manager. “Green Hill and East Nashville High School set the standard, and nearly 2,000 toys made a real difference for families across our region.”
The competition challenged participating schools to collect and load toys into Nashville Superspeedway’s Ford Mustang Mach 1 pace car during the holiday season. The volume of donations once again required multiple vehicles to transport all contributions.
As part of their recognition, Green Hill and East Nashville High School students and staff will be honored on-site during race day festivities ahead of the Flote 200.
“We’re excited to win the toy drive contest. Our students, families and staff came together to bring joy and comfort to children in Middle Tennessee,” said Green Hill High School principal Kevin Dawson. “We’re grateful to Nashville Superspeedway for giving us the opportunity to make a real difference and for their continued support of the local community. We cannot wait to celebrate at the races this May.”
East Nashville High School principal Myra Taylor shared in Dawson’s excitement. “The incomparable Muhammad Ali once said, ‘Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.’ We are elated about our students’ efforts and how it may have helped families in our community,” Taylor said. “I am beyond proud of my students and school and look forward to partnering with Nashville Superspeedway again.”
