LEBANON, Tenn. — Mecum Auctions made its debut in Middle Tennessee at Nashville Superspeedway, generating more than $73 million in sales and becoming the most successful inaugural auction in company history. Strong consignment demand expanded the event to five auction days, with 1,750 vehicles ultimately crossing the block.
The auction achieved a 75% sell-through rate, with both total sales and sell-through expected to increase in the coming days as Mecum’s Bid Goes On department continues facilitating post-auction deals. The results underscored the strong response to Mecum’s first event in the Nashville market and the demand that drove its expansion to five days.
Leading the top sellers was a 2024 Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta, which sold after the auction through Mecum’s Bid Goes On department for $4,050,000.
Two significant race cars from the Jack Roush Automotive Collection followed: the 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra “Nobody’s Fool” IMSA Road Race Car, driven by Paul Newman, sold for $935,000, while the 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra SCCA Trans-Am Road Race Car, driven by Tommy Kendall, brought $825,000.
Rounding out the top five were two Ford GTs, including a 2020 Ford GT Mk II at $792,000 and a 2005 Ford GT with 70 miles at $770,000.
The Nashville Superspeedway setting added a distinct motorsports atmosphere to the inaugural event, with guests able to experience the track firsthand through NASCAR Racing Experience rides throughout the event.
